Early Times Report
rajouri, Apr 12: The police high-handedness is not a new feature with Jammu and Kashmir police in the State as so many astonishing cases come in the fore.
Another particular case of harassment and police high-handedness in implicating an innocent person into the crime which he never committed has come into the light in Rajouri district.
Kuldeep Raj, son of Balak Ram and resident of Sunderbani, Ransoo became a scapegoat to the police atrocities in a hit and run case that implicated the innocent and has been harassing him for past one and half year.
Baggo Begum, resident of Sekri Bakori in Sunderbani was hit by some motorbike rider on January 27, 2015 while the culprit escaped from the scene.
The police unable to find the culprit however filed a fake FIR No 48/2015 Under Section 279, 237 and 338 against Kuldeep Raj , a mechanic by profession working as a helper in a mechanic shop at Shivkhori Ransoo.
On 30th January 2015, the alleged victim was approached by the Assistant Sub Inspector Mohammad Aslam to district police station Rajouri for investigation.
Despite the victim proving his innocence to the police, the ASI rounded up Kuldeep Raj and took the motorcycle bearing registration No JK11A 8906 in the police custody .
The victim was asked to own the crime and was made scapegoat wherein the police kept on pressurizing the victim that he would be released without any problem.
The ASI Mohammad Aslam took a bribe of Rs 2500 from the victim in the period and assured that he will be let free after some preliminary investigations.
However, the police presented the challan against Kuldeep Raj on 8/5 /2015 wherein the ASI Mohammad Aslam again demanded Rs 1500 from the victim who paid the amount due to the fear of police high handedness .
The recorded statement of the victim Kuldeep Raj mentioning the entire episode of bribery and his falsely implication in the case is in the possession of the Early Times.
The victim as well as the neighborhood of the victim admit that on the day of the accident Kuldeep Raj was at his shop and his motorcycle was parked outside his shop .
Kuldeep Raj who have been victimized for the last one and half year has appealed to the Director General Of Police K Rajendra to take a sympathetic consideration in his case and relieve him of his hardships which he is facing at the hands of the police personnel.
