Over 200 students suffering due to lack of transport, ARTO silent | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, Apr 12: Over two hundred students hailing from different remote villages including Baila, Trichal, Marnote, Moharban, Dhara, Fatehpur, Danna Dhakran, Kehnu, Seri Khawaja and Haribudha villages of Poonch district are suffering due to lack of transport in their respective areas but concerned authorities are in slumber. Reports said there are villages in where students are forced to cross the river in the absence of a bridge and have to walks on foot to school by covering long distances but authorities are least bothered in this context. Even if local residents have to visit the hospital, school or a market, they will have to walk long distances. The local residents have petitioned their representatives many times, but to no avail. According to the reports one Javid Reshi on this March 21, met ARTO Poonch in this regard and also discussed various transport related issues of whole district. Reshi discussed fare list issue of different passenger vehicles, lack of transport on Mandi to Fatehpur route, though ARTO Poonch assured him to solve issues but ARTO yet has failed to initiate any action in this regard. Reports said Reshi once again went to ARTO Office on Saturday and again discussed basic problem of students related to transport especially in Mandi Fatehpur area. Reshi while talking to ET, reiterated his demands and sought State Transport Commissioner to take action against official Reshi said failing in any case he along with students will come on the roads |
