Jammu, Apr 12 : Jewellers, who were staging a nationwide protest, today also observed complete bandh of their establishments for the 42 day against excise duty of gold, during the protest it was informed that All-India Jewellers' association has suspended their ongoing strike for twelve days till April 24. A large number of Jewellers, Swarnkars, and artisans assembled and protested at Jain Bazar, Jammu and later the protestors marched towards Mubarak Mandi where they discussed the further course of action. Addressing the gathering, Raman Suri Chairman, Sarafa Association and Swarnkar Sangh Joint Action Committee Jammu Province said, "All-India Action Committee of Jewellers, headed by its Chairman, Fatehchand Ranka, is holding a meeting with the representatives from all states at national capital to discuss the further course of action of the nationwide Jewellers' Strike.' "The meeting at Delhi resolved that the ongoing nationwide strike will be suspended for twelve days i.e. April 13- 24," Suri said, adding, "this suspension is made by taking into consideration the problems being faced by our customers for the last 42 days." |
