Bahujan Samajwadi Party leaders of district took strong exception of the issue and have launched a drive against encroachers who grabbed hundreds of kanal Irrigation / State land with the due support of Revenue officers specifically deployed at Chak Sona Rupa Halqa. Som Raj Majotra, BSP senior leader, alleged on Revenue department to back property dealers who close associate with union ruling party. He said Revenue officials of the halqa themselves inform the property dealer about vacant land and ensured him modification in the revenue records. Majotra said that JCB machines and other digging machines are openly used to grab state land but nobody is there to control such drive.
