Woman injured by stray bullet near 'firing range'

Rajouri, Apr 20: A stray bullet hit a woman while she was working in the open kitchen outside her house in village Sawani Gharat situated close to army's firing range under the jurisdiction of Police Station Rajouri.
According to police sources, the bullet reportedly hit the woman superficially on left shoulder and she was rushed to District Hospital (DH) Rajouri. "The bullet injury to injured identified as Sajeena Begam (26) w/o Mohd Kabir was only confirmed by the medicos treating her when they found bullet pierced inside her skin. Dr Anies, Medical Superintendent DH Rajouri was informed about the matter and later police was informed accordingly. Meantime apprehending trouble, the injured Sajeena has reportedly disappeared from the hospital before the police could reach. Meanwhile, taking cognizance of the incident and collecting details from the hospital record, Rajouri police has lodged a case FIR NO 203/16 u/s 337 RPC (causing hurt by act endangering life or personnel safety of others) and started investigations.
