SRINAGAR, Apr 20: Taking a dig at the opposition parties for unnecessary criticism of the present coalition government in the state, Youth President (National) Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Sanjay Saraf said that things need to be put in correct perspective for a sensitive state like Jammu & Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference here, Saraf said that though the state government has ordered a probe into Handwara Killings, but keeping human interests in consideration there should be a high level investigation since five people have lost their lives. He said that Mehbooba Mufti led state government is entirely different than the previous government of National Conference.
"Without wasting anytime, the Chief Minister visited Handwara where she met with the families of the victims which need an appreciation from all corners of society including opposition parties. It is very unfortunate that some politicians who were in NC-Congress government have always tried to mislead the people for their vote bank; otherwise they always know the fact that, during 2010 what happened in Kashmir," said LJP Youth President.
Hitting hard on the opposition parties, Saraf said that criticism should be with a good intention to take the state to the new heights adding that it is not the case this time around. He said that some sections of society want to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in the state.
"Is not Omar Abdullah fully aware that what happened during 2010 unrest when more than 100 precious lives were lost? Mehbooba Mufti felt the aspirations of the people and ordered for the removal of army bunkers in Handwara. Omar never ordered for any magisterial probe during his regime when he was the CM. Now he is trying to politicize both the issues, Handwara and NIT," said LJP Youth President.
He said that he fails to understand that why things take ugly turn in the month of April only since the peak season of tourism starts from this month. He said the reason for this is that some people want to disrupt peaceful atmosphere of Jammu and Kashmir.
Pointing towards the recent NIT issue, he said, "There is no question that NIT will be transferred from Srinagar, as people have also done lot of politics over this issue, it is our family matter and we know how to handle it. Students should not indulge in any violence and they must focus on their studies."
