Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 20: Police today arrested a thief and on his disclosure recovered stolen books from a book seller shop here today under the jurisdiction of Sarwal police. According to police spokesperson, the arrest and recovery was made effective after police received complaints by one Sanjay Gupta R/o Rehari colony that two persons came to his shop, Sanjay Pen House Rehari colony on scooty and snatched books set costs aprox 12000 rupees. "Before he could react they fled from the spot," the complainant added. Police said, "In this connection a case FIR No 69/2016 u/s 382 RPC was registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigatiosn were taken up." "During investigation I/C PP Sarwal S I Vikas Hans arrested a person namely Manthan Sethi s/o Rajpaul Sethi of 421-A Gandhi Nagar Jammu, police said , adding, "during questioning the accused confessed his involvement in crime besides having similar crime committed at different places of Jammu Akhnoor ,Digyana, Paloura and Sashtri Nagar. He disclosed that he had sold the books to Sahil Book Centre Shastri Nagar as use books and recovered accordingly. The arrest was made by S I Vikas Hans and Inspector Ashwani Sharma under the supervision of Sugandha Mahajan SDPO West Jammu and overall supervision of SSP Jammu Dr Sunil Gupta. |
