JAMMU, Apr 20: A girdawar was today caught red-handed by the Vigilance Organisation (VO) while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from the complainant for attesting mutation of his mother's land. VO sources said Harish Sharma, son of Vijay Sharma of Bakshi Nagar, lodged a written complaint against girdawar Mohammad Ashraf , who at present was posted at Laxmi Puram, Chinore near Bantalab, alleging therein that he had demanded Rs 5,000 from him as bribe for attesting the mutation of his mother's 7 marlas of land in ward No 64 of Chak Changerwan, falling under khasra No 63 min khata No 18 at Khewat No 2. Acting on the complaint, a VO team, constituted by VOJ SSP Kosual Kumar Sharma and led by DSP H L Pandita along with Inspector Zaffar Amin, Inspector Naresh Sharma and Inspector Vikram Sharma laid a trap and arrested the accused red-handed while accepting Rs 5,000 as bribe from the complainant. He was arrested in presence of independent witnesses. |
