jammu, Apr 21: Principal sessions judge, Jammu, Kikar Singh Parihar today awarded life imprisonment to a youth who was involved in the murder of a shop worker at Ban Ganga in the holy Katra town. According to the police case, Bachan Singh, who was accompanied by his maternal uncle Swarn Singh, came to the Ban Ganga police post on May 1, 2011 in an injured condition and lodged a report, alleging therein that he had been stabbed in the stomach by Mohinder Singh alias Raju with a knife. Bachan later succumbed to his wounds. Following this, police registered a case against Mohinder under section 302 of RPC. While Bachan worked in the dry fruit shop of one Sanju at P P Market, Katra, the accused too work in a shop at P P Market. The judge, after hearing the two sides, awarded life imprisonment to Mohinder and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on him. He ordered to lodge the accused in the Kot-Bhalwal central jail. (JNF) |
