Jammu, Apr 21: Apprehending the backlash of nomination made on recommendations from former Health Minister in the AMT School, the concerned authorities in a bid to stand on solid grounds have reportedly changed the title of nominations from AMT to 'Clinical' streams, high placed sources within the department here today said. Sources informed Early Times that, after media reporting exposing AMT nomination scam, the Principal Ancillary Medical Training School (AMT) Jammu, had sent the students for clinical practices in GMC. "Few days back, SurajRakwal, OSD to former Health and Medical Education Minister, Ch Lal Singh went to school, and pressurized the Principal to send student for practices, so that wrong doing could b covered", sources said, and added that the scam where more than 150 candidates were nominated for various streams in government Ancillary Medical Training Schools, top to bottom every is involved. It is also alleged huge money was exchanged for nomination of these candidates. "The nominations were made before the beginning of session 2015-16. The nomination usually, happens after commencement of the session", sources said, adding that due to reshuffle in portfolio, which took place on April 4, 2016, same day the order was issued by the commissioner secretary, Health and Medical Education department. Source told that earlier 37 candidates had already been nominated on directions of former health Minister, by the department. "Few months are left in completion of the previous session and the AMT School has still not declared selection list of trainees. The candidates nominated by former Health and Medical Education minister studying since November 2015", they added. It is pertinent to mention here that despite change of guard, things in the department remain unchanged. |
