JAMMU, Apr 21: Some 'tainted' officers allegedly continue to hold important positions in the state administration. "One officer is holding a senior position in revenue depart. A case was registered against him when he was deputy commissioner, Pulwama. There is another officer of the rank of deputy secretary who was suspended when he was SDM, Surankote, in Poonch district. He now stands promoted and posted as deputy secretary in revenue department. The senior revenue officer has attained notoriety for being unfriendly towards general public. He has been telling people that a cabinet minister had asked him not to send him 'irrelevant' files. According to him, the minister had also asked him to put up files of land use cases with a check list. Another officer,who is an engineer by profession, is occupying a cadre post meant for IAS officers. Due to his political connections, he continues to occupy the post.
