Kishtwar, Apr 21: To fight against their 'unjustifiable' transfers and for the genuine cause of ReTs, RReTs, teachers, masters and lectures, various teachers' organisations joined hands here today and formed All Teaching Professionals Association, Kishtwar.
The new association later held a meeting of all heads of ReTs, teachers, masters and lecturers under the chairmanship of Irfan Ahmed Matoo.
During the course of meeting, it was unanimously decided to fight for the cause of teachers and students as well.
In their address, Mehboob Ahmed Qazi, president of DMTA, Masood Hussain Qazi, Syed Zakir Hussain, district president of JKEWF, Tahir Masood and Abdul Hafiz, presidents of ReTs, lecturer Sajid and others highlighted the issues regarding transfer matters particularly in the case of lecturers, masters and teachers who were suffering for want of proper adjustments. They appealed the director school education, Jammu, to verify all the official record before initiating transfers of teachings.
They alleged that 'transfer melas' were held in the recent past in Kishtwar and questioned the posting of two lecturers against one post in the district.
They also demanded release of funds for drawal of salaries of teachers, including lecturers and masters, all surplus staff till they were properly adjusted.
The association also appealed the DSE for the reinstatement of a master who was suspended by her for visiting her office with a 'genuine' complaint.
The association also expressed its unhappiness over the practice of keeping confidential examination material with police stations and urged the DSE to take up this issue with the BOSE chairman. Lecturers, teachers, masters, particularly female superintendents, feel humiliated in approaching police stations for the examination material. "This procedure may be amended and police be asked to deliver the material half an hour earlier in examination centres itself," they demanded.
The meeting was also attended by Manoj Kumar Badyal, Ravi Kant Rathore, Liquat Hussain Mir, Sanjeet Sharma and Vijay Sharma.
