4/21/2016 11:17:01 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 21: Accusing BJP of having sold its every single slogan and its fundamentals for power, former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today said it had proved that lust knew no bars, no red lines while addressing the rally in Gandhi Nagar constituency here today. According to press release, accusing the BJP of bartering away the pride and honor of people of Jammu region to satisfy its lust for power, he appealed Jammuites to oppose, expose and depose the BJP's Juggernaut for its demagoguery and sheer opportunism.
He said that the 10 months rule of BJP was a grimy tale of failures and betrayals with none of its elected representatives raking up the promised issues of Jammu region. He regretted that BJP leaders were still describing the Agenda of Alliance as sacred and visionary despite it showing total disregard for the concerns of Jammu region. Urging upon the Jammu based leaders to assert, he said that the BJP must insist on incorporation of its election time promises in the Agenda of Alliance before any initiative is taken to form the new government. Bhalla said BJP miserably failed to rake up any of its issues or at least initiate any discussion in respect of them thus meekly surrendering to the whims of its highly powerful and dominant partner. Bhalla slammed BJP for its failure to ensure resolution of the burning issues of Jammu region including roll back of service tax on Helicopter services to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji shrine, removal of apprehensions on Jammu AIIMS, announcement of Smart City for Jammu. It was Congress which upgraded medical treatment standard in Jammu by opening Super Specialty Hospital Jammu, 200 bedded Children Hospital at Gandhi Nagar, providing medical staff at districts and sub district hospitals besides upgrading all the district hospitals with latest diagnostic equipments, said the former Minister. "We even prepared projects to develop tourists spots in Jammu region from Jammu to Poonch and Kathua to Doda but BJP has only spoiled the development of Jammu," said Bhalla. Bhalla said the announcement of Rs. 80,000 crore package by Prime Minister Narendra Modi now seemed "mere eye wash and a political gimmick to appease his coalition partner". Hitting out at the PM for "playing a political gimmick" with the people of the state, he said from the day one Congress had been saying that Modi-led government "as expected was not going to address the issues of the flood victims".
