Cashier assaulted with sharp-edged weapon, Rs 5 lakh looted

Jammu, May 16: In broad day light, some unidentified miscreants attacked a cashier of a private company and looted five lakh from his possession at Hazuri Bagh area falling under the jurisdiction of police post Pouni Chack area. Police sources said that as reported by one Parveen Kumar s/o Harbans Lal of Seri Pantaan lodged complaint with police at Police Post Pouni Chak in injured condition. Police sources said that the complainant in his complaint stated that he is serving as cashier with Securitian India Pvt Ltd. and after withdrawing five lakh from Rahul who is serving with E.com Courier Express at Anand Nagar to deposit the amount with HDFC Bank at Bagh-e-Bahu. Quoting complainant, police said at 1.30 pm while on his way three persons intercepted him on the motor cycle near Hazuri Bagh area assaulted him with a sharp-edged weapon (toka) and robbed him of Rs 5 lakh and fled from the spot. Police said that a case in this connection and started investigation in this regard.
