Kishtwar: Placing Azad's name below MoS Sharma in VVIP list sparks controversy

Kishtwar, May 16: The Congress party Member Legislative Assembly from Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori along with Member Legislative Council (MLC) Naresh Gupta, MLC Sham Lal Bhagat and National Conference MLC and former Minister Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo today held a strong protest inside District Development Board meeting at New Deputy Commissioner Office Complex Kishtwar over breach of privilege by putting the name of Ghulam Nabi Azad Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha having protocol after Prime Minister of India in hierarchy below the name of Minister of State for Transport Sunil Sharma in a list of VVIP persons while appointing liaison Officer for them ahead today's District Development Board meeting.
After protesting for five minutes inside the board meeting, all the four legislators in protest stage walkout from the meeting in order to show their resentment what the agitating legislators called as "Blunder" and termed it as politically motivated committed by the District administration. All the four legislators held protest for nearly half hour outside DDB meeting venue and return back only after the intervention of Chairman DDB Bali Bhagat along with MoS Sunil Sharma and PDP MLC Firdous Tak who followed the agitating Congress and National Conference legislators and requested them to end their protest and return back to join the meeting. Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan along with Chief Planning Officer Kishtwar also tried to pursue the agitating legislators who continued its protest. Ghulam Nabi Azad who is MP Rajya Sabha from J&K and is leader of opposition name was placed at serial No. 4 below Health Minister Bali Bhagat who was placed at serial No. 1 of the list followed by MoS in PMO Dr. Jatindra Singh whose name has been placed at Serial No. 2 and MoS Sunil Sharma at Serial No. 3 of the list which according to Congress party is in violation of protocol rules.
Similarly the name of three time legislator Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo was placed at Serial No. 14; below first time legislator Sham Lal Bhagat and Dr. Shahnaz Ganie whose names had been placed ahead of Kichloo while the name of 2nd time legislator Naresh Gupta was also placed below the first time legislator at serial no. 16 of the list of VVIPs issued by the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Vide No. DDCK/Plg/DDB-2016-17/2170-90 dated 12-05-2016 .
Reacting to the issue, Congress MLA Ghulam Mohammad Saroori termed as an appeasement act of district administration who tried breach the protocol of politician like Ghulam Nabi Azad who is leader of opposition with protocol after Prime Minister of India granted by the constitution of India by putting his name below the rank of Minister of State added that same could not be tolerated. He said that party strongly condemn this act and has taken a strong note of the grave mistake committed by the District Administration Kishtwar.
"It is deliberate attempt--- BJP already suffered a humiliating defeat in Uttarakhand and now resorting to this type of cheap tactics" said Saroori.
