Vijaypur, May 16: As the heat wave continued in North India, the Vijaypur Town also started to feel the brunt in shape of acute scarcity of drinking water forcing agitated people to lock the office of Assistant Executive Engineer concerned. Amid sloganeering against the PHE department, the locals assembled main square of Vijaypur and stated their protest later they marched towards office of AEE-PHE to apprise him about their issues. On reaching there the protestors alleging scrambled infrastructure and carelessness of PHE. Employees have resulted into present scarcity, the agitated locals locked the office of AEE-PHE to register theor protest. "Due to the posting of un-skilled worker in PHE Department, the motors of various tube wells located within and adjoining to the Vijaypur town have turned out of order that too because of low voltage, they alleged. The people of various wards including 1,2 3, 4, 5, 11, 12 and 13 of Vijaypur town visited the AEE office of PHE, Vijaypur and staged Dharna and threatened the PHE Department of further intensifying their protest if authoroities fail to readress the faulted infrastructure soon. When Early Times tried to contact Assistant Executive Engineer, Samba, he could not be get contacted to get his comments in this regard till 11 am. Rocky Mahajan, Varun Gupta, Rinka Choudhary, Raju, Vishal Sharma, Dalip Kumar, Pummy Gutpa, Sonu, Pintu, Babbal Gupta, Manohar Lal and Gagan Bhagat also were present in the protest. |
