BSF jawan among two killed, three other injured as Tavera falls in gorge | | | Early Times Report
Banihal, May 16: Two persons including one Border security force (BSF) Jawan were killed while three other BSF personals sustained injuries when a tavera vehicle skidded off road and fell down in a deep gorge on Jammu Srinagar National highway near Kuthal Banihal here this morning. Police reports said that the incident took place at about 2:30 am when a taveera vehicle bearing registration number JK 05C -6852, was on its way to Jammu form Srinagar when reach Khutal some 7 kilometers short from Banihal town skipped off road and fall down in a deep gorge. "Two persons identified as driver of the vehicle Ghulam Nabi, s/o Abdul Khaliq Malyar of Watergam area of Baramulla and Ct Babi Rai (130850667) of 11 Bn BSF from Kolkata in West Bengal were killed on the spot, sources said. "Meanwhile injured have been identified as H/C Samar Kumar (93007803) s/o Malan kumar of P/O Vishrampur, H No 51 Part Colony Kunda in Chattisgarh; Cont Lal Babu Kumar s/o Shiv Shanker Yadav of Patna in Bihar and Cont. Dev Raj Vishwas s/o Parbat Vishwas of Kolkata (all from BSF 11 BN) sustiend injuries and were hospitalized at Banihal Hospital at present, sources added. SHO Banihal Nazir Ahmed Dar when contacted said that after the incident a police party rushed from Banihal Police Station which shift the injured and bodies to EH Banihal. SHO Banihal said that the doctor declared the two persons brought dead while other three have sustained non fatal injuries and after the treatment they were discharged from the hospital. Meanwhile the body of the driver were handed over to his family members where as the body of BSF Jawan shall be handed over to the concerned battalion. Police have registered a case in this connection investigations. |
