Reasi, May 16: Various villages of Pouni Block are suffering from acute shortage of drinking water and people are forced to fetch water from long distances or purchase water through private the tankers who are minting money keeping in view the current situation.
As per local reports the villages including Letar, Dab, Dadoa, Sadini, Kana Chak, Pouni, Bharakh and other adjoining areas are not getting piped drinking water for the last two months.
"The daily wagers, CP workers and need based employees of the department are already on 'Kaam Chhoro' Hartal and the permanent employees has been deputed by the department in the urban areas to handle the crisis but at the cost of the rural people who are feeling at the loser's end.
The villagers namely Jagdish Raj, Sanjay Kumar, Pawan, Satish Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Varinder Parkash, Yash Paul and Prem Nath from above said villages resented the elected representative of the constituency for not solving the problems of their people including the drinking water problems.
As they have failed to redress their issues in regard to potable water and now the people in general in remote areas are suffering the water pangs which purely a problems of concerned authorities and minister as well.
The villagers appealed to the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to issue suitable instructions to the PHE Department to provide drinking water to the people. |
