| Poor stock supply deliverance makes Mid Day Meal defunct in Rajouri | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, May 16: Much acclaimed Mid Day Meal (MDM) Scheme- an innovative scheme central government to promote education to increase the literacy rate besides raise nutritional levels among children besides aimed to raise the enrolment in the government schools allegedly goes defunct courtesy irregular supply of the Mid Day Meal (MDM) essentials.
This was alleged by not an outsider but from within the department which apparently has raised finger of suspicion towards the much acclaimed multipronged centrally sponsored scheme to increase the literacy rate among rural areas.
Member Mid Day Meal Monitoring Cell, Rajouri Zone Abdul Haq Headmaster Government High School Gurdanbala while sharing his odd experiences when some local journalists visited him to share that during their visit they found the students are not getting midday meal for the last more than two months.
According to students of some schools this in its direct proportion is hampering their academics as many of them still can't concentrate when the usual bell rings but there is no meal.
Many students rued due to this the number of students is decreasing with each passing day as many of students infact have been attracted towards schools just because of the Mid Day Meal (MDM) and it is anticipated if the thing go on with same manner the number of students will certainly fall further drastically.
Member Mid Day Meal Monitoring Cell, Rajouri Zone and Headmaster Government High School Gurdanbala Abdul Haq in his reply claimed that this is not only the problem of his school but the Mid Day Meal system is defunct in whole of district Rajouri.
Headmaster added that this is happening due to the fractured functioning of distribution system as they are not getting ration from the stores. Keeping in view the problems of students the said Government High School Gurdhanbala started Mid Day Meal at its own resources but sources revealed that yet menu chart is not followed and compromise with the quality is allegedly also prevalent. |
