Early Times Report Jammu, June 15: CJM, Jammu, Sunit Gupta today rejected the bail application of a man who had attempted to kill his wife and mother-in-law. Vikram Sodhi who was allegedly involved in attempt to murder case of his wife and mother-in-law. According to the police case, Vikra, Sodhi had been harrsasing his wife Joyti Devi for more dowry. On May 20, 2016, when Jyoti's mother Darshan Devi was present in the house, Vikram, who was armed with a 'kirch' trespassed into her house and allegedly stabbed Jyoti in her chest and abdomen. When her mother tried to save her, she too was stabbed. The CJM, after hearing the CPO, observed that the circumstances in the present case were quite different as the accused, who belonged to a belt-force, had abused his position and acted in such a brutual manner with his own wife and mother-in-law as if he intended to do away with their lives. The court said the persons from belt-force were expected to be more civilized than ordinary persons. With these observations, the court dismissed his bail. |
