Bandh observed in Bhaderwah over 'desecration' bid

BHADERWAH, June 15: Bhaderwah town today observed partial Bandh on the call given by Sanatam Dharam Sabha and VHP against miscreants" who allegedly tried to desecrate idols at revered religious place in Roop Nagar area yesterday.
Early in the morning VHP and other Hindu organisations organised protest and demonstration at Gatha area on Bhaderwah Doda road and demanded immediate arrest of all accused persons and also chanted anti-government slogans. Speaking on the occasion district President VHP Satish Kotwal said it is matter of serious concern.Some anti-social elements have carried out an anti-social act and government should take strict action .Kotwal alleged that instead of arresting the miscreants the police resorted to use of lathicharge and tear smoke shells on peaceful people in Jammu yesterday evening who were demanding justice and arrest of miscreants and it is highly condemnable
.He threatened to government to take strict action in the incidence if not then they will hold a lengthy agitation .
