Fisheries Deptt organizes awareness camp 6/15/2016 11:24:51 PM Early Times Report Kishtwar, June 15: A day long Fisheries Awareness Camp was organized by Department of Fisheries District Kishtwar at Galigad Block Trigam. The camp was organized to make the general masses aware of various benefits of adopting Pisciculture as a profession. While addressing the gathering, Muzzaffar Mehraj Mintoo, Assistant Director Fisheries Kishtwar informed the people that 11 No's of Trout Fish Units and 15 No's of Carp Fish units have so far been established in Private Sector in the District. He further informed that 291 Nos of Fishermen were registered during the year 2015-16 and stressed upon the need to conserve the aquatic biodiversity of the district. He said that department will guide them regarding various public welfare schemes with regard to earning of their livelihood, particularly for unemployed youths of the District through various government sponsored schemes in Fisheries sector and urged the people to come forward and take the benefits of the government schemes. He said that officials of the department will always remain at their services as and when demanded.
