VHP expresses anguish over Roop Nagar incident | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 15: Vishav Hindu Parishad president Leela Karan Sharma expressed anguish over trespassing and vandalizing Aap Shambu temple by a Muslim youth last night. Addressing media person here today, Sharma expressed his anguish over the act of a person from majority community in trespassing the temple and vandalizing the temple. He informed that the Mahant of the temple has gone to Police Station, Janipur for lodging the FIR against Mohammad Yasir, who vandalized temple, but ASI Rehmat Ullah slapped him and refused to register the FIR. However, when the mob of the adjoining area including the Social/civil societies on hearing this news gathered there the police was forced to register the FIR. The mob chanted slogans against the administration and asked the police to arrest the culprits and the police inspector who slapped the Mahant. He stated that it appears that the police followed delay tactics in arresting and taking action against the police official which can't be tolerated at any cost when the sentiments of public at stake. However, it has been known that both have been arrested. Sharma threatened the administration that if such type of acts will happen in future, the administration should not forget the incidence of 2008. He also demanded that SHO and ASI of Janipur Police station should be suspended immediately and action under rule shall be taken against them. Besides, all the cases against the youth which has been falsely registered should be withdrawn without any action and the youth arrested by the police should be released. |
