Early Times Report Jammu, July 6: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today extended his greetings and best wishes to the people of state and Jammuities world over on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr. He wished the auspicious occasion would bring in a 'renewed' spirit of love and oneness through its message of self discipline and sacrifice. On the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Bhalla today visited various Eidgahs including Malik Market in Narwal, Karayani Talab, Macca Masjid in Bathindi and Digiana and exchanged Eid-ul-Fitr greetings with the people. Interacting with the people, Bhalla said that this joyous occasion would be a harbinger of communal harmony, brotherhood and amity, which are the hallmark of the State's glorious pluralistic behaviour. Bhalla said that the day symbolizes love, compassion and kindness. He asserted that it reminds us of our responsibility towards poor and needy and inculcates the spirit of sharing happiness and joy with everyone. He maintained that Islam teaches peace, brotherhood, amity and love besides tolerance and patience. Bhalla stated that Eid is an occasion to dedicate ourselves to the teachings of Islam and preaching's of Prophet Muhammad. "Let us all pledge today to work unitedly for the peace, prosperity and well being of the State and its people", said Bhalla."May Eid-ul-fitr bless us all with a renewed spirit of love and oneness through its unmatched message of self discipline, sacrifice and charity," he added. Festivals have become ideal occasions to show the way to communal harmony as religious tolerance has started to give way to communal tension. The collective will proclaim the message that religious diversity is not a curse, but a blessing. Besides, it will uphold the motto that getting together is essential for the empowerment of the country. "It's the need of hour to sit together and hold talks to get together," Bhalla asserted. |
