Early Times Report

Jammu, July 6: Close on the heels of major controversy surrounding two IAS officers, one of whom attempted suicide recently, another senior IAS officer in Jammu and Kashmir is in news for his alleged 'friendship' with a female officer.
This senior IAS officer is presently holding very important position in the establishment while the woman officer has recently joined the same department after her transfer from another wing.
According to the sources in Government circles, the alleged intimacy between the two officers was recently brought into the notice of the top official, who has taken a serious note of such behavior of the bureaucrats in the Government.
Sources said the officer personally summoned this senior IAS officer and sought clarification about the same after which a verbal warning was also issued against such acts, which bring bad name to the bureaucracy.
Even as people took it as a reference to the two IAS officers, who are in news following alleged suicide attempt by one of them and her subsequent transfer, sources said.
Earlier, sources said, the official had summoned the senior IAS officer in question to his office chamber and sought clarification about the rumours surrounding his involvement in the affair with a female officer.
If sources are to be believed, the top official had almost made up his mind to shift this senior IAS officer from his present place of posting and as soon as a suitable alternative is found, the transfer order in this regard would be issued.
It is pertinent to mention that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, during her speech in the House, had warned the Government functionaries against mixing up their personal life with public life.
Without naming anyone, she had said that people on responsible positions should avoid such controversies, which bring bad name to the Government as well as their own reputation.
