| Colourful Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra taken out | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 6: A colorful and mesmerizing Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra was taken out in Jammu in which large number of devotees participated with great religious enthusiasm.
The Yatra started from MAM Stadium and passed through various parts of the city creating spiritual ambiance within the city.
The Yatra was organized by Shree Jagannath Rath Yatra Sanstha, Jammu in which thousands of devotees including men, women and children participated. The participants were seen chanting names of the Lord Jagannath and singing devoational songs especially dedicated to the revered deity.
The Rath Yatra started with magnanimous welcome of Lordships Shree Shree Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra Devi placed on the chariot decorated with flowers.
Speaking on the occasion the head Priest from host agency briefed the people about the deity and said that Jagannath Yatra is the grandest festival of the supreme divinity (Lord Jagannath) who manifested himself in the KalYug to emancipate humanity and to relieve them from their sufferings.
He also said that these moments bind us together and shows that still good prevails over evil.
The devotees, enroute danced and recited Bhajans in praise of Lord Jagannath. Meanwhile some business organizations and non political organizations have organized stall of eatables which served sweets, water and fruits to the devotees during Yatra. |
