Two killed in accidents, one survives electric shock

SRINAGAR, July 6: Police said three persons killed across Kashmir and Ladakh in different situations. While two died in mishaps, one person is being treated after surviving a serious electric shock.
Pranab Kumar Datta son of Deva Kumar, a resident of Mumbai slipped to death during rafting at Sangam, in the jurisdiction of Police station Leh. Soon after being rescued from the river, he was shifted to Nimoo hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. After completion of legal formalities the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. Police have already registered a case.
Kumar was apparently holidaying in the region.
A pedestrian received an electric shock while repairing an electric wire in Awantipora. Identified as Gulzar Ahmed Malik son of Abdul Ahad resident of Rezipora Awantipora, police said he received an electric shock while repairing an electric wire at Rezipora, in the jurisdiction of Police Station Awantipora. He was shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment.
Police said one person died while two others were injured in two separate road accidents in Sopore and Srinagar.
In Sopore, an alto 800 car bearing registration JK16/4963 hit and injured a pedestrian Mohammad Rafique Ganie son of Mohammad Sultan resident of Dangerpora Sopore at Dangerpora. The injured was referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar where he succumbed to his injuries. Sopore Police have registered a case in this regard registered.
In Srinagar, an accident took place between a Swift Car bearing registration number JK01D/2657 driven by Manzoor Ahmed Bhat son of Saddar Bhat resident of Lasjan and a motorcycle bearing registration number JK04C/5834 at bye pass near Master Pro College Nowgam. It resulted in injuries to the Swift Car driver and another person Manzoor Ahmed Itoo son of Sonaullah resident of Nagam Chadoora. Both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment. Srinagar Police has registered a case in this regard.
