Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated with religious fervour, gaiety across state | | | Early Times Report Jammu/ Srinagar, July 6: Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the culmination of Holy Month of Ramzan, was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety here today. The main Eid congregation was held at Eidgah Residency Road where thousands of men and women, accompanied by children, offered Eid Namaz and exchanged Eid greetings. Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti today joined thousands of devotees at the revered Hazratbal shrine to offer congregational Eid prayers.The Chief Minister was accompanied by Minister of State for Urban Development, Asiea Naqash and Legislator Anjum Fazli. They offered the Eid prayers in the special women's enclosure. The Chief Minister exchanged greetings with the people present there and prayed for peace and prosperity of the state. On the occasion, Imam of the Masjid prayed for peace and harmony in the state. "May this festival fill our lives with peace, prosperity and happiness", he added. Elaborate arrangements were made by the district administration for smooth celebrations of Eid festival across the district. Like other parts of the state, the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr was also celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety in Reasi today. Mosques were decorated to mark the occasion and markets witnessed huge rush of people purchasing sweets and gifts. The Eid Namaz was offered at Jama Masjid Reasi. Deputy Commissioner Ravinder Kumar and other senior civil and police officers were also present on the occasion. They exchanged Eid greetings with Muslim brethren at Jama Masjid and prayed for peace and tranquility in the state. The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety across Ramban district today. The main congregation took place at Jamia Masjid Sharif Ramban and Markazi Eidgah, Banihal where thousands of devotees performed Nimaz-e-Eid and prayed for peace, prosperity, brotherhood and development of the State as well as the country. Elaborate arrangements were made by the district administration for smooth celebration of Eid-ul- Fitr festival. Eid Namaz was also offered at other mosques of the town and its outskirts including, mosques of Chandrog, Maitra, Upper Ramban, Chanderkot, Batote and Gool. The Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz and Senior Superintendent of Police, Randeep Kumar along with officers of district administration extended greetings to the Muslim brethren. The DDC said that such occasions remind us of our responsibility towards poor and needy and inculcate the spirit of sharing happiness and joy with needy and destitute. District Jail, Jammu today celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr with full enthusiasm and zeal. On the occasion, Director General of Police, Prisons, Dr. S. P Vaid and Superintendent Jail, Harish Kotwal extended warm greetings to the jail inmates and wished them a very happy life. Sweets were also distributed among the jail inmates. Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated with zeal and fervor across the district here today. Huge rush of people from Muslim community gathered at Eidgah to offer Eid prayers this morning. Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga also visited the Eidgah and extended greetings to the people. The Muslim brethren also exchanged wishes, sweets and gifts with people from all walks of life. Elaborate arrangements were made by the administration for celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr festival across the district. Thousands of Muslims across the district today offered Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at the central Eidgah, Rajouri . The people after offering prayers prayed for the peace and prosperity of the nation. Eid prayers were also held in other towns and villages of the district. |
