Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 26: The only play ground meant for the sportspersons seems to have lost its sheen to indifference of the J&K State Sports Council. Disappointed with the condition and poor management of the stadium, a visitor slammed the concerned authority for having failed to maintain the stadium. He said a number of player including small kids visit the stadium for practice and participating in district, state as well as national championship but the facilities provided by the authority are disgusting. There is no proper toilet facility, no cleanliness, chairs and window panes are broken. The wasps wasps all over the complex add to the woes of the players who are forced to stay there. Interestingly the higher ups of the department concerned raise these issues in their meetings but nothing has changed. "We feel difficulty using the toilets. There are only two toilets for more than 500 players. The cases of wasp stings have been reported but nothing has been done," a player said. When contacted Divisional Sports Officer, Rajan Sharma said that the renovation work has been given to National Projects Construction Corporation (NPCC) and it will deal with all construction works in the Stadium. |
