| Separatists left with nothing to sell, calendar days numbered | | Surgical strikes puncture Azadi balloon | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 29: Indian Army carrying out surgical strikes in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) has rattled the separatists, militants and their supporters in Kashmir.
India targeting terrorists camps in PoK has created ripples among the people who at the behest of Pakistan have taken Valley hostage for the past three months.
"India launching a counter offensive against Pakistan is the first step towards separatists losing their hegemony in Kashmir. Since the day unrest has broken out in Kashmir, separatists and terrorists have been calling the shots. When self-styled commander of Hizbul-Mujahideen, Burhan Wani, was killed on July 9 this year terrorists instigated the people to attack the camps of the security forces and police stations and ensured that civilian killings take place. They knew that killings would give separatists reason to call for strikes and paralyze life in Kashmir," an analyst told Early Times.
"Pakistan sponsored terrorists appeared in the rallies which were held in south and north Kashmir. Separatists and terrorists delivered fiery speeches and created an illusion that Kashmiris would get Azadi soon. Separatists shut the doors on the members of the All Party Delegation (APD) and refused to meet them as they wanted to keep their bosses sitting across the Line of Control (LoC) happy," he added.
A Kashmir watcher said, "Now the tables have been turned on Pakistan and their agents. They stand cornered as their Azadi balloon stands punctured. Despite India crossing the Line of Control (LoC) and destroying the terrorists camps Pakistan is in denial mode. History stands testimony to the fact that Pakistan has never owned the bodies of terrorists. When India launched a counter offensive in Kargil in 1999 that time also Pakistan said that people fighting the Indian Army were not its men and they were foreign mercenaries. They refused to accept their bodies that time also. They didn't even accept the bodies of terrorists who were killed in Mumbai attack."
He said, "India hardening its stand is a major blow to separatists who were busy projecting that Kashmir is close to Azadi. They were issuing protest calendars claiming that international focus has shifted to Kashmir. However, the surgical strikes carried by India in PoK have exposed their lies. The international community has maintained silence over the strikes carried out by the India and have in fact endorsed these strikes by not reacting to the development. This indicates there is no international pressure over India and entire world is of the opinion that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and Pakistan has been fomenting trouble in JK by exporting terror by sending terrorists."
An analyst said, "It's is high time for separatists to wind up their shops and call off this calendar business as Azadi is a myth which is being sold to by Pakistani agents to appease their bosses." |
