Poster attributed to LeT scares employees of info Deptt | `It was a prank played by an insider' | | Majid Nabi
Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept 29: The employees of the information department were scared when a poster, later proved to be a prank played by some miscreant, urged them to refrain from attending duties Wednesday. Sources in information department at Maulana Azad Road said that some mischief monger had pasted the poster of banned Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit on the official notice board that forced employees to leave the office on Wednesday. "We found a mysterious poster, attributed to the Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit asking employees to refrain from joining offices keeping in view the civilian killings and atrocities committed by police and forces in the valley," sources told Early Times. They said that the employees were threatened of dire consequences in case they attended their duties. "We found many employees whispering, they were visibly terrified with the warning. Many employees left the scene due to fear," sources informed. Reports said the poster was removed before the high officials visited the site. "It was actually a prank played by some insider, the removal of poster took everyone by surprise, it is an irony that even security men guarding the office had not seen anyone pasting the poster. The office is some twenty yards away from the main entrance and it is not possible for anyone to enter inside and paste a poster amid tight security," sources said. They said that the employees heaved a sigh of relief the moment they found the poster removed. "The situation right now is tense in the valley; there is strict instructions by the resistance camp spearheading the ongoing agitation to not attend their offices, hence fear among the employees was justified," they added. |
