Jammu, Sept 29: Principal of Nagbani School who has been arrested yesterday for illegal trafficking of timber was admitted in Chopra Nursing Home after his condition allegedly deteriorated. Police sources said that today Principal complained about illness and he was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) where his medical examination was conducted. Pertinently a case has been registered against the principal under sections 379 (theft), 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery) and 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating). Yesterday a truck loaded with timber was intercepted near check post of Domana police station and when the driver was asked about document regarding transpiration of timber, he failed to provide the same. Later police came to know that the timber was being brought form Nagbani School. Police immediately arrested the principal of the school Alok Betab since a permission letter which was signed by him was found in the truck. In addition, police have informed the DFO of Forest Department too. The year has not been very promising for the Principal, who was twice charged with harassment by a teacher of his school. However, almost all the staff of Nagbani School backed the principal saying that the Principal is a man of great character and alleged back that the teacher who had charged the Principal with harassment was at fault. |
