| Debate competition on "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" held | | |  Early Times Report
Samba, Oct 26: Lions Club Samba today organized a debate competition on "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" at Govt. Hr. Sec. School Sumb. 17 students participated in the debate competition and four students were selected for the Mega Event on the said slogan.
All the participants were given consolation prizes and the mementoes were presented to the first three candidates namely Meetu Sharma (1st), Diksha Rajput, Komal Mehra (Both 2nd) and Razia Choudhary (3rd). The Lions Club Samba also provided refreshment to the students and staff of the School.
The whole staff of the school and prominent persons was present on the occasion. While addressing the gathering the president of Lions Club Samba Amardeep Singh appreciated the Govt's Schemes Ladli Beti and marriage assistance for poor girls launched by Samba administration and also suggested the gathering that we should encourage the girl child to study and choose her career by availing the benefits of the scheme.
He also said that we as a society should work towards to save the girl child as the sex ratio is decreasing day by day. The Secretary of the Lions Club Samba Surinder Mishra while highlighting the working of Lions club Samba also stressed to maintain the balance of sex ratio.
The Ceremony was graced by the Lions of the Club included Capt. Inder Singh, Sita Ram Sapolia, Rajnish Pargal, Pawan Kumar, Rakesh Singh, Sabaz Singh Surinder Amba, Vikas Sharma, Ashok Raizada, Vikas Gupta, and others graced the occasion. President Lion Amardeep Sngh and his team thanks to the Prinicpal and Staff members, students and the people preset on the occasion to make the program a great success. People of the area appreciated this gesture of the club. |
