Samba area turns into gambling den, courtesy SHO Hulchul in Police 10/26/2016 11:13:49 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 26: The SHO of a police station in Samba district is alleged to have truned the areas, that fall under the jurisdiction of the police station he heads, into a gambling den. In return, he is alleged to be receiving a huge amount. The proceeds thus collected were alleged to be shared by him at the higher level, according to police sources. The SHO, who belongs to Jammu, was posted in Samba district some time back. "He enjoys the backing of some senior police officers," sources alleged. "Nowadays, he has been inviting people from outside areas too to gamble in his area. A general message has gone out that whoever wants to gamble on the eve of forthcoming Diwali is welcome in his area. He charges a huge amount of money from the people for allowing them to gamble with impunity from law. He is virtually minting the money," sources alleged. To invite gamblers from outside areas, he was taking the help of his acquaintances and some criminals, sources alleged, saying he had fixed different rates for different places.
