JKSRTC generates Rs 48 cr revenue during last 6 months | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Oct 26: Despite unrest that has left 86 civilians dead and over 10,000 others injured in security force action since July 9, Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC) has earned a revenue of Rs 48 crore in the last six months. An official spokesperson here today said that are 833 vehicles of corporation operating out of which 247 are under maintenance process. As many as 184 vehicles of the corporation have been damaged during uncertainty. He further said that 150 trucks and 60 buses of the corporation will be operating during the Darbar Move, shifted of government chair, including Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and her cabinet colleagues, to winter capital Jammu. He said that the corporation has generated revenue of Rs 48 crore during last six months of the current financial year. Meanwhile, Minister for Transport Sunil Kumar Sharma directed the concerned to improve the work culture of workshops by digitization and adoption of modern methods so that maintenance of vehicle is made possible on time. He also directed the concerned to submit a report regarding the functioning of these workshops within fifteen days. The Minister appreciated the corporation for providing hassle-free transport service and making food and other essential commodities supplies possible during uncertainty. The Minister said that the corporation is face of the transport department but yet there is need of innovative ideas, modern methods and bringing transparency in its functioning. He also directed the Managing Director of the corporation to take monthly review meeting with his officers to improve its functioning. |
