| Express solidarity with shelling hit families | | Sham visits border village | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 26: Seniorr Vice President JKPCC and Former minister Congress today visited village Gharkhal in Akhnoor, which is very close to border, met families affected by cross border firing and also took stock of the situation prevailing due to firing.
The people narrated their woes of tale and they feel insecure due to constant firing.
They alleged that BJP PDP Govt is behaving like mute spectator and no concrete steps are being taken by the BJP-PDP govt to ensure our safety and security.
Sham said that this village Gharkhal is located very near to the LoC and the people of this area always feel insecure as and when there is a cross firing between India and Pakistan. There are about 792 families in this village.
The previous Congress-NC government had chalked out a plan for rehabilitating these people at two places namely Sanghani and Purkhoo migrant camp. He said that present BJP-PDP Govt should relook this proposal and initiate action immediately so that these people can be rehabilitate at these places keeping in view the safety and security these people.
Former Minister said that consequent upon constant firing and mortar shelling there has been colossal damage to the property of these inhabitants. He further said that a minor child also sustained injury due to the firing. He urged upon Govt and civil administration that the people living on the border shall be rehabilitated to safer places and adequate compensation for the loss of property, injured personal and livestock may be given.
Lambasting on BJP-PDP Govt Sham Lal said that from the day BJP-PDP govt in the state and NDA government at the center came into power the J&K state is facing unrest.
He said that Govt machinery at all levels has come to the grinding halt and the state is passing through worse situation which has never been experienced by the common people in the past. Moreover, it has seen that whenever NDA Govt comes in power at centre, there has been uncertainty and unrest in the country.
He also said that BJP Ministers and MLA's who consider themselves so called 'Champions & Sympathiesar' of Jammu people has utterly failed in coming to the expectations of the border people. For the lust of power they have compromised with their principles and also neglected Jammu people. The present govt of BJP-PDP is behaving like mute spectator and just giving lip service to the people. Sham expressed the hope that the peace and tranquility will restore on borders and LOC , enabling the people to live their normal life.
He also praised the border area population for showing highest degree of bravery and safe guarding the borders.
He said that people of Jammu and Kashmir and the Country are with the shelling affected population. |
