Dy CEO allegedly withholds then ZEO's salary since four months

Poonch, Oct 26: The Deputy Chief Education Officer (DyCEO) reportedly has withheld salary of the then Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Balakote for the last four months, sources said here today.
According to sources the then ZEO Balakote now is facing hardships due to non release of the dues for the last four months
Sources said, "Zonal Education Officer Balakote Abdul Rashid choudhary, was facing a pending inquiry of a departmental case and Chief Education Officer (CEO) Poonch Lal Hussain had ceased his drawing and disbursing powers which were given to Dy CEO Satpal Sharma who reportedly have withheld the salary of ZEO for reasons better known to him.
Sources also said the ZEO facing inquiry had also approached District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch M H Malik to seek his intervention to get salary released as his family is facing financial crises.
It is pertinent to mention here that Early times had carried news items regarding the scholarship and uniform scam in Balakote some months ago and the impact of the news report made authorities to initiate probe in the matter and as the investigation is on.
As the case hit the media limelight, the CEO Poonch taking cognizance in this matter has ceased the power of drawing and disbursing of the then ZEO Balakote and entrusted the same to DyCEO Poonch Sat Pal Sharma.
While talking to Early Times, CEO Poonch Lal Hussain said that as per rules the official facing a departmental inquiry ought to come to head office as routine but reports said that the then ZEO used to visit office once in a blue moon. CEO Poonch further accused the ZEO facing inquiry allegedly comes once in a month and used to mark, himself present for the whole month which apparently sent wrong signals. "Thus under disciplinary action his salary was withheld recently which he used to get on regular basis during the investigations, he said, further assuring, "his (ZEO's) salary will be released soon.'
Meanwhile DDC MH Malik also had assured that it salary of official facing probe shall be released within a week.
