JAMMU, Oct 26: Confederation of Indian Industry in association with the Jammu Kashmir festival had organised a Round Table considering the "Business potential and emerging Opportunities in J&K" at Houses of Parliament, Westminster.
The programme had seen a participation of business delegation from J&K to represent the potential sectors of the state to international audience.
Sheikh Imran, Chairman CII J&K State Council embraced the presence of Bob Blackman, Member of Parliament of Harrow East, Naveen Choudhary, Commissioner Secretary of Finance to the government of J&K and other business delegates for the Round Table.
During his address, he welcomed Bob Blackman MP as the Patron of the Jammu & Kashmir festival in London, under the aegis of which the business discussion happened.
He stressed that the discussion was largely focussed on business opportunities and the potential in the State of Jammu & Kashmir, which more often than not, go un-heard.
He had enlightened the various prospective sectors including Food Processing, Handicrafts & Handlooms, Renewable energy, Tourism Infrastructure.
Further, Rahul Sahai who is currently serving CII J&K State Council as the Vice Chairman delineated the elevation of ease of doing business and facilitating a start-up ecosystem in the state.
Naveen Choudhary congratulated the team on this unique effort and shared figures on how much investment in development projects is made each year by the state and central government of India for J&K.
He welcomed the Jammu Kashmir Festival and said this initiative must be expanded to other parts of the world as well as other parts of India.
Ajatshatru Singh had also graced the occasion, who talked at length about the tourism infrastructure in J&K. The discussion was attended by Tara Naidu, Regional Manager for UK and Europe for Air India, Kanika Gupta, leading textile entrepreneur from the state.
MP Bob Blackman appreciated the role of CII in taking up initiatives that will improve the industrial and business climate in J&K.
