Mobile shop theft worked out, 1 held | | | Early Times Report KISHTWAR, Oct 26: Police today claimed to have solved a mobile shop burglary that took place four days ago in heart of Kishtwar town at New Bus Stand here and arrested one person. The theft was committed in Farhan Communication on Sunday last. The burglars had broken the locks and decamped with mobile phones, memory cards, SIM cards and other costly items worth about Rs 1,80,160. An FIR in this regard was registered at Kishtwar police station under sections 457 and 380 of RPC. SSP, Kishtwar, Sandeep Kumar Wazir said police visited the scene of crime and collected some evidence. During investigation, police, working on various leads, raided the rented house of the accused at Tapal Market. From his residence, police recovered 51 pen drives and memory cards, SIM cards, 3 torches, 10 bundles of electric wires and other items worth Rs 1,80,160. Asked if the accused was part of a gang of burglars, the SSP said that police were yet to question the arrested person. "We have arrested him only few hours ago. We have yet to question him on the modus operandi used by him in carrying out the burglary. Let police question him first, only then we will be able to know whether the accused was involved in any other thefts that have taken place in Kishtwar in recent past," the SSP said while addressing media persons here today. Police sources said the arrested person was involved in various theft cases including the incident of mobile snatching from a young girl. Police had also recovered stolen solar plates from his possession as well. |
