Jammu, Nov 1 : Arya Samaj today celebrated Maharishi Dayanand Sarasvati Nirvan Divas on the eye of Diwali here at city chock Jammu. According to press release the programme was started with Bhajans in which rich tribute was paid to Dayanand Saraswati by various scholars. Dr. Pratibha Purandhi, Assisstant Professor Jammu University spoke at length on the reforms carried out by Maharishi Dayanand like Untouchability, Satipratha, Education for women etc. Acharya Vidhya Banu Shastri JI also reminded the gathering about the teachings of Maharishi. He said that Dayanand was the first saint who proclaimed the slogan that "India is for Indians" and we have to follow the teachings of Vedas and one must read the Satyarth Parkash which is an eye awakening for the Hindu society. Arun Gupta ,President of Arya Samaj distributed awards to the students of various schools who participated in the programme and also expressed vote of thanks to the gathering . The programme was organized by Balwan Singh, General Secretary of Arya Samaj which was concluded with Rishi langer and parshad managed by Vivek Gupta, Secretary of Arya Samaj with the active assistance of Dinesh Gupta of Gupta Stationery Mart, City Chowk, Jammu . |
