Jammu, Nov 1: The Business School, University of Jammu organized a guest lecture by Siva Sankar, director HR Asia Pacific at Tower Watson, Singapore. An alumnus from The Business School, Siva Sankar is a man of perseverance who in his interaction focused on self confidence, motivation, hard work and patience. While talking to the students, Sankar persuaded the students to never give up and work harder in any job they wish to pursue. He pointed out that failure is not a matter of abomination anymore, but it is important to learn from the failures because that is going to make a better professional as well as a better person who ultimately paves way to growth and better opportunities. Sankar also emphasized the importance of networking and how important it is to earn respect of peers. He reiterated the importance of continued learning all through life and the need to adapt, because the world is changing rapidly, especially owing to technology and hence those who keep learning will always remain in demand. Sankar discussed the current emerging trends in the market and opined that technology, customer focused services, flat organization hierarchy, skill based hiring and high emergence of entrepreneurs was some of the trends to look out for.
