Inter-state drug peddler held with 5 kg ganja 11/1/2016 11:21:20 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 1: In continuation to special drive against drugs under operation 'Sanjeevani' launched by Sunil Gupta, SSP Jammu, today Gangyal Police today arrested a drug peddler from Orissa alongwith 5 kgs of Ganja (cannabis) "Acting on a specific information a special naka was laid at Gangyal Chowk and one pedestrian who was carrying a black leather bag was asked to stop but he tried to flee from the spot, police said. Police spokesperson said, "The person was overpowered and on search of the bag 5 kg ganja was recovered and during questioning the person disclosed his name as Adatiya Pardhan son of Siaimanchal Pardhan of Gereda Orissa." Police further said that the accused disclosed that he has brought this ganja from Orissa and used to sell this drug especially to the youths of the area for the last three years and more recoveries are likely in this connection Accordingly police has registered a case under FIR no 123/16 has been registered at Police Station Gangyal under relevant sections of law and further investigation of the case is going on to ascertain the source and destination of this consignment.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
