Srinagar, Nov 1: Main opposition National Conference (NC) working president Omar Abdullah today lashed out at the Centre and the Jammu & Kashmir Government for allegedly for reopening of schools a benchmark to gauge the return of normalcy in Kashmir. The reopening of schools a benchmark to gauge the return of normalcy is what leads to arson attacks by those who ferment trouble," Mr Abdullah, who is the former chief minister of the state, wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter. Mr Abdullah was responding to the reports that the Centre has asked the Jammu and Kashmir Government to make efforts to reopen the schools in the Kashmir Valley, where all schools remained closed and over 25 educational institutions have been gutted under mysterious fire incidents since July 9, a day after Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander Burhan Wani and two other militants were killed in an encounter at Anantnag. Asserting that schools must reopen but not in isolation, he said the government must get a grip on the situation so that schools and shops open on their own. Meanwhile, lashing out at national electronic media over killing of civilians in ceasefire violation by Pakistan along LoC, he said that's why it's very easy to whip up frenzy in a TV studio, it's quite another thing to have to live with the consequences of the fallout. |
