Cracker Traders leave Subhash stadium marked with garbage and litter

Udhampur Nov 1: Amid Swach Bharat campaign, the cracker traders left the Udhampur District Stadium (Subhash stadium), dotted with a garbage dump with empty cartoons and other garbage littered around in this playfield with attract morning walkers every day who now are shying away from it courtesy its shabby looks.
The organisers of Deepawali Crackers Stalls - which was held for three days till October 30 at the stadium and saw overwhelming response from traders and people but the traders soon after Dewali festival vanished away without carrying a due mopping up of the area.
A leisure walk by the correspondent and his friends on Tuesday, gave an apparent ugly look of this stadium as the open area was seen dug out and dotted with cartoons of crackers and also waste of the crackers which the traders have burnt during dewali celebrations.
The potholes dug out to construct tin kiosk have not filled by the traders which may pose grave threat to the sportspersons and the morning walkers who use to come early in the morning while the pieces of abandoned ropes and iron sheets too is seen scattered all over the ground.
"We used to play Football here every evening, but now we have stopped as the ground is not fit to play, said Sourav Kumar, adding, "We don't know whom to approach to get the ground back in its form but I think the authorities should have imposed a condition to traders to clean the ground before leaving,"
One Naresh Kumar also said that the administration before giving permission should have held the responsibility of traders to maintain the ground but the stalls owners after dewali immediately dismantled the kiosks and left it in a bumpy shape.
Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Niraj Kumar briefly said that he wasn't aware of matter as none has reported it to him. He however ensured that he will personally look into the matter and take the appropriate action. He also assured the proper cleaning and maintenance of the Stadium.
