Police cracks blind murder case, wife, brother arrested | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 26: Reasi police today claimed to have cracked a murder case after three years of crime with the arrest of wife and brother of the deceased who had confessed their crime. "The accused have been identified as wife of deceased identified as Kamlesh and brother of deceased Raj Singh who confessed to have committed the crime, police spokesperson said. Police said that on August 6, 2013, an information was received at police post Shiv-Khori that one person namely Gurmeet Singh son of Suram Singh of Sangar Mohare Kharabat Tehsil Pouni District Reasi had committed suicide by hanging himself at his home. "To ascertain the cause of death an inquest proceeding under section 174 CrPC was initiated at Ransoo police station, police said. Spokesman further said that during the course of investigation, investigation officer along with police team visited the crime spot and took the custody of the body for conducting the post-mortem while collecting circumstantial evidences. "After completion of all legal formalities, the dead body of deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites, police said. "As per FSL /post-mortem report and query report of Medical Officer, cause of death was ascertained as strangulation/forcible closure of mouth and nose and tying the ligature on neck resulting in asphyxia," said police spokesman. He said that on this the said inquest proceeding under section 174 CrPC was converted into case under FIR no. 15/2015 u/s 302 of RPC stands registered at Ransoo. Police spokesman further maintained that during investigation, Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by DySP Headquarters Reasi including SHO Ransoo was constituted by SSP Reasi. "And the Special Investigation Team by taking all possible angles succeeded in solving the case and role two culprits including wife of deceased identified as Kamlesh and brother Raj Singh was surfaced who after sustained interrogation confessed to have committed the crime, police spokesperson said. |
