Jammu, Dec 2: Financial Inclusion Department, J&K Grameen Bank under the Chairmanship of RK Chhibber in collaboration with NABARD organized financial literacy cum awareness programmes in various schools across the state. According to press release, these programmes were intended to bring the financial literacy in the lower most age group of the society and open the accounts of the children falling in the age group of 10 to 18 years. J&K Grameen Bank has covered most of the districts of the state including Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara, Srinagar, Rajouri & Poonch. At present, more than 10000 students have opened their accounts under this initiative. Apart from account opening, the students are also made aware of the GOI initiatives like Digital India and Swacchh Bharat Abhiyan. They are also told about technological innovations in banking industry including NEFT/RTGS, online banking, IMPS, SMS banking, Rupay Card, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System and Direct Benefit Transfer and others. |
