SI's mishandling creates chaos in Court premises | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 2: Grave mishandling and unprofessionalism shown by an incompetent sub inspector of J&K police today caused chaos and panic in the Court premises Janipur here today, jepradizing the security of the sensitive establishment. According to sources, SI Devender Singh, who was attached to DPL following allegations of misconduct during his posting as I/C PP Panjteerthi was deputed to take two groups of under trials from district jail Ambphala to court complex Janipur for hearing. The two groups, of notorious criminals, one led by Vishnu Prakash and the other led by Sonu, had five and three under trials respectively. "The erring SI had a soft corner for the Sonu group due to his old acquaintance with them and the relaxation extended to this group by the SI was objected to by the Vishnu Prakash group" informed an eye witness. As per reports, after the under trails had appeared before the court, SI objected to Vishnu Prakash's interaction with his lawyer in the premises, while Sonu was freely talking to other people. "The lawyer asked the SI to allow him to talk to Vishnu Prakash, but the SI started pulling him, following which Vishnu Prakash turned hostile and attacked the SI" an eye witness recounted. The incident caused chaos and panic in the court premises and the situation was brought under control after the Police intervened. While an FIR has been filed in this regard, yet eye witnesses reiterated that the situation was aggravated by the mishandling by the erring SI. A senior officer of Police, who was in the know of the incident agreed that the incident took place due to the mishandling of the situation by the SI. |
