Bootlegger held with 38 pouches of liquor 12/2/2016 10:05:32 PM Early Times Report Udhampur, Dec 2: Continuing its drive against menace of illicit liquor and its sale, a police today arrested one bootlegger alongwith 38 pouches of liquor during a naka checking on Ramnagar- Basantgarh Link Road here today Police sources said the accused has been identified namely as Swaran Singh (31) son of Shunku Ram of Dhanwalt Udhampur district. Police said, "On specific input a police team laid a surprise naka on Ramnagar- Basantgarh link road," "The police party headed by SI Shamsher Singh apprehended Swaran Singh of Dhanwalt on suspicious movements and recovered 38 frooties (pouches 250 ml each) of JK Desi whisky from his possession during serach of his belongings. Police said on this case FIR NO144/2016 u/s 48a Excise Act got registered against accused who was arrested on the spot and liquor was seized.
