Jammu, Apr 25: Inter School District Level competitions in the Sports disciplines of Taekwondo, Slum Bum, Wushu, Sqay Martial Arts, Thang Tha, and Boxing (U/14 and U/17 for Boys) gets underway here today at Indoor Complex MA Stadium. In all, 253 boys drawn from various government and private schools of district Jammu are taking part in the two-day long competition.
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports, J&K Government.
Earlier the competitions were declared open by Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu in presence of ZPEO's of District Jammu in a simple yet well attended function.
While addressing the participants, Kour urged the participants to take part in the sports activities which is very essential for their overall growth and development. She further said that sound mind lies in a sound body and the sport is the only medium through which one can build his or her stamina and strength. |
