Jammu, Apr 25: State Cabinet which met yesterday with the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti in chair approved time bound promotion to the Kashmir Administrative services (KAS) but ignored the KPS officers.
It 'll be great injustice with Kashmir Police Services (KPS) officers of the State as they have been sacrificing their life for national security, said a KPS officer.
According to him, the KPS officers have no family life, no social life, and bear the brunt of stone pelters, anti- national elements , anti- social elements and then discrimination at the hands of politicians. We are not saying that it should not be given to Kashmir Administrative services (KAS) Officers. Happy to see things in their favour but we should also be treated at par with them," he said.
The services rendered by Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP ) in general and KPS officers in particular like some screen shots of help rendered during Floods and other Natural Calamities, Traffic Management , VIP duty , Yatra duty Sacrifices of life during stone pelting , encounters etc cannot be ignored, he said adding they have been even denied a selection grade for the past eleven years.
He said the chief minister had taken a decision last year but nothing has been done to this day. |
